(Drink a bottle of wine with the locals in Soho Park...)
Visit friends who are literally like sunshine, regardless of the weather outside.
Amy and I met during the fateful "Girls Night" in Sydney last year. I rocked up to the hottie pow wow a few hours late, I was busy praying to the porcelain goddess from the damn Toxic Thai Red Bull, and was greeted by this beautiful girl:
"Oh my god, You're so gorgeous!"
Wow, thanks, I hope she doesn't realize I was just puking my brains out...
"And you're from New York- oh my god, I love you!"
Double wow, people actually like Americans...
"You're so beautiful," she said scanning me over, and then gave me a big hug.
This is why I love Australia.
So I visited her at her place of employment, The Couch on Oxford and Dean Street, and drank espresso martinis while gossiping about life. She is auditioning and waitressing, just like me, and was so positive in her attitude. It's rare to find people, especially females, who are so supportive and kind and fun.
It was a fabulous- and very boozy- afternoon that turned into a very lovely dinner at the Kensington Roof Gardens complete with fireworks, rose champagne, and a not so bad looking bloke. ;)
